CraftWorks,
Inc. was formed to provide the highest quality 1/32nd scale model aircraft
available. Why 1/32nd? In addition to being a long established scale
for models and figures, we as modelers love working in the scale. To
us, a well finished 1/32nd scale aircraft kit looks more like the real
thing than the smaller scales- you can actually see all the details
without using a magnifying glass! The problem has been the scarcity
of good 1/32nd scale kits, the inaccuracies of many that are available,
and lack of detail in almost all. We decided to build our own kits with
all the accuracy and details of the best kits and conversion sets in
order to make our kits the best available. To accomplish this, we have
enlisted some of the finest masters
in the hobby industry to provide you with great detail and the latest
innovations rarely seen in other kits. Since there are so many great
subjects that will lend themselves well to 1/32nd scale, we're all very
excited about the prospects of this endeavor and so are you, judging
from all the great response we've received!
One
of our plans is to produce different variants of the same basic aircraft
design in order to utilize as much commonality among the parts as possible.
This will help us keep the costs down and provide you with more options.
For example, the Macchi C. 202/205 and Macchi C. 200 kits use many of
the same design elements. The Curtis P-40C and the Curtis P-36 also
share common parts: basic wing, basic fuselage, control surfaces, canopies,
and landing gear. With that in mind look for our Bf-109K, G, and F series
and the Ki-100 and Ki-61 series soon!
Each
of the CraftWorks kits will contain enough decal sheets to do a variety
of squadrons and/or nationalities. Typically, this means a minimum of
two decal sheets or three decal sheets, sometimes four sheets. We also
plan to provide lots of decal options that will enable you to have a
better variety and offer a chance to build some of the more unusual
versions of these great aircraft legends. The P-40 decals will allow
you to do any of the three A.V.G. "Flying Tiger" squadrons
as well as the Pearl Harbor defenders and the RAF 112th Squadron in
North Africa.
There are eight French squadrons to choose for the P-36/Hawk 75, as
well as early and late Finnish markings, Dutch, RAF Mohawks, and even
markings for the Brazilian P-36's. Our decal options for the Macchi
aircraft allow you to choose from over twenty different Italian squadrons!
Also included are decal markings for Regia Aeronautica, Co-belligerent,
and Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana units. A great selection of squadron
number styles is offered and is sure to please almost everyone. The
decals we provide are always very high quality
Dry
transfer type decals are another fine touch included in most of our
aircraft kits. They typically portray the various cockpit and oleo strut
placards and data plates. Some of our dry transfers also include some
fine stenciling information to give your model that 'complete' look.
They are easy to place and are incredibly detailed. We also plan to
use them on aircraft subjects that were left 'unpainted' in their aluminum
finishes such as the Japanese Val, Claude, and Tony.
We would love to display photos of your
completed CraftWorks kits, so send us photos of your work! Look for
them in our gallery section.
All photos are of actual kits or prototypes.
We
are pleased to present our new series of 1/48th scale Hydroplane kits
under a new label of CraftMasters. We are currently producing and developing
hydroplanes from the '50s and '60s of the following types, 30' Round
Bow, 30' Pointed Bow, 30' Dropped Sponson, 28.5 Round Bow, and
Miss Century 21/Miss Thriftway. Each kit will make a number of different
hydroplanes, come with high-quality decals, and are equal to our standards
for our high-quality 1/32nd scale aircraft kits. In the future, we will
also be producing kits of hydroplanes from the '70s, '80s, and '90s.
We hope you enjoy our kits!! If you have any suggestions for future
kits and/or accessories, please drop us a line as we would love to hear
from you.
